Aziz Yildirim Reclaims Fenerbahce Presidency in Landslide Victory

(MENAFN) Turkish football heavyweight Aziz Yildirim has reclaimed the presidency of Fenerbahce, defeating rival candidate Hakan Safi in a commanding victory at Sunday's Extraordinary General Assembly — marking a historic return for one of the club's most iconic figures.

Official results released by the club confirmed Yildirim secured 17,245 votes against Safi's 9,927, delivering a decisive mandate from the club's membership.

Speaking to supporters at Chobani Stadium following the announcement, Yildirim struck a unifying tone, declaring: "The winner is Fenerbahce. Fenerbahce needs unity and solidarity. We will not allow divisions to damage this great club."

The returning president wasted no time outlining an ambitious agenda, pledging to bolster the squad within 15 days and expressing firm belief that Fenerbahce can mount a serious title challenge. Beyond the pitch, Yildirim also committed to strengthening the club's financial standing and expanding its stadium capacity.

The victory marks a powerful comeback for Yildirim, who previously helmed Fenerbahce for two decades between 1998 and 2018, cementing his status as one of the most consequential figures in the club's modern history.
