Turkish, German Foreign Ministers Confer on Iran Conflict

(MENAFN) Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan spoke by phone on Monday with German Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul to address the ongoing war in Iran, according to Turkish Foreign Ministry sources.

The two ministers shared perspectives on measures intended to "bring an end to the war," which erupted on February 28 when the US and Israel launched a coordinated offensive against Iran.

Tehran responded with drone and missile attacks targeting Israel, as well as Jordan, Iraq, and Gulf nations hosting US military forces. These strikes have resulted in casualties, infrastructure damage, and disruptions to global trade and aviation.

Fidan has been actively engaging in diplomatic initiatives to halt the conflict in the Middle East, holding previous calls with regional counterparts, including his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi, in addition to discussions with US and EU officials.
