Turkey Says Airstrikes Won’t Shake Iran’s Regime

(MENAFN) Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated Monday that airstrikes on Iran would not lead to the collapse of its government. Speaking to CNN Turk, he said such attacks might weaken the system and disrupt services, potentially prompting the regime to take radical measures, but an outright overthrow is a “pipedream.”

Fidan’s comments come as Iran and the US resume negotiations in Oman after an eight-month pause. He stressed that the region cannot endure another war and that Turkey, led by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, is working to prevent conflict using all available diplomatic means.

He noted that both sides are showing willingness to continue talks and explore “more creative solutions,” emphasizing that, for now, there is no immediate threat of war.
