Turkey to Host 2026 NATO Summit in Ankara
Communications Director Burhanettin Duran described the upcoming gathering as more than a routine diplomatic event, calling it a pivotal moment in shaping what he referred to as the evolving global security architecture.
In remarks shared on Turkish social media, Duran said that under President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s leadership, Türkiye continues to play an influential role in global affairs by taking responsibility in crisis situations, contributing solutions, and turning alliance commitments into practical action, according to reports.
He also emphasized Türkiye’s central position within the transatlantic security system, pointing to its strategic geographic location, strong engagement with NATO, and active role in managing regional crises.
Duran added that by hosting NATO leaders, Türkiye will reaffirm its commitment to supporting peace, stability, and collective defense, while reinforcing cooperation within the alliance, according to reports.
