Turkish Stock Market Ends with Decline

(MENAFN) The Turkish benchmark equity index finished Wednesday at 12,728.18 points, marking a 0.61% drop compared to the previous session’s close.

Opening the day at 12,839.89, the BIST 100 index slipped by 77.63 points from Tuesday’s closing level.

Throughout the day, the index touched a low of 12,575.67 and reached a peak of 12,847.24.

In total, 56 sub-indexes recorded losses, while 40 ended the day in positive territory.

Trading activity amounted to 208.1 billion Turkish liras ($4.8 billion), with the overall market capitalization standing at 12.57 trillion liras ($291.08 billion).

By 6:20 pm local time (1520GMT), the USD/TRY exchange rate was 43.2970, the euro/TRY rate was 50.7460, and the British pound was valued at 58.2575.

Meanwhile, gold prices stood at $4,830.50 per ounce, and Brent crude oil was priced at $64.25 per barrel.
